AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi, Greetings to all I am doing this image where I have a problem with the use of caustics, I'm using  a solid  with caustics for the pool water material  and the mesh of the waterfall of the same, the effect on the pool is really good, but the effect on  mesh is terrible, if you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem please let me know. Any help or comments would be appreciated, I'm using engine 1 (path trace) in this image.

Regards,
Alejandro

 Saludos,

Alejandro

Well; I uncheck the caustic for the  mesh, here is the image with some small post edition in PS, just blurring the palms on the back and the plants on the front.  Also some diffuse glow

Use the Hybrid engine for caustics.  Don't use a solid for the water-- it's easier to model with a thin sheet for the surface (don't tag it as thin).  Hard to tell what else is going on here.

Thanks Roy I will make this changes and see how it works.  What about the difference between the solid and the mesh?

You can try it with the hybrid engine to see what you get.  My guess is you'll need a different (more transparent) material for the waterfall.

Hi Roy, one more question, can you explain me which is the difference between applying caustics to an object or using recflective caustics in the material definion?. Thanks again.  Alejandro

It is a bit confusing, sorry--

To use Caustics with the Path Tracer tag the object with the Caustics switch.  This turns on both reflective and refractive caustics.

Refractive caustics (the kind on the bottom of a swimming pool) are always enabled in the Hybrid engine.  To enable reflective caustics in the Hybrid engine you need to use the material switch.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
