AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

OK,

by popular demand we will run a Xmas scene competition.

We will give prizes to the top three winners - their choice of a new seat of nXtRender or renewal of their current seat.

We will ask Mike Makki if he will serve as one of the judges.

Here are the rules:

  1. Create a Xmas, Holiday, or Winter scene and render it with nXtRender for AutoCAD or IRender nXt for SketchUp.
  2. The contest will end on January 3, 2014
  3. A selection of the best contest entries will be posted on the IRender nXt site and featured on the IRender nXt web page, and used for marketing promotions.
  4. All images submitted are to be .jpg format, no larger than 1280 x 1024, or 1024 x 1280, resolution.
  5. Post-processing is not permitted, (except using nXtImage editor included in nXtRender IRender nXt). No more than 3 contest entries per user.
  6. Submit your entries tohttp://review.wizehive.com/webform/renderplus.
  7. If you need a new 30-day free trial of nXtRender or IRender nXt to render your scene, send an email to contest@renderplus.com
  8. Most of the final image needs to be created and rendered using SketchUp geometry and IRender nXt special features, as opposed to placing a small amount of geometry in front of a photograph or other image. HDRi skies or backgrounds are acceptable.
  9. Submissions which are mostly background images, mostly decals or images placed in the model, or mostly faces with image-like textures will not be considered.
  10. Entries are assessed principally on the basis of: quality and the incorporation of IRender nXt features.
  11. Express permission is given to Render Plus for publishing images in any form.
  12. Entries may not contain logos, signatures or watermarks which identify the author.
  13. Entries should be submitted to: http://review.wizehive.com/webform/renderplus. Include the name or handle you want to be identified by when the entry is posted to our web site.
  14. You may post your work in progress on the Forum if you like, but official entries need to be submitted to the contest site.
  15. Entries are limited to three per e-mail address. You may withdraw previous entries if you wish to replace them with new entries.
  16. Any entry, which in the judges' decision, breaks the rules will be disqualified.
  17. Your prize may be used as a credit at Render Plus for purchase of any products or upgrades. If you already own IRender nXt, you can save your credit to use for purchase of future upgrades.
  18. Any questions regarding contest should be posted in the IRender nXt forum.
  19. The judges' decision is final.

I am glade to have inspired nxt to start a competition, however running 2 competition of the same theme might be confusing to users, my purpose was to inspire and challenge users skills and imagination.I believe a combined  competition and prizes might be a better solution in term of incentive and drive.

in regard to item 12, contestants taking part shouldn't display their entries as it might result in pinching ideas by other contestants

in regards to item 13, personally one image per entry is adequate otherwise we might get too many images

to go through.

Regarding 13, what we have done with our other contests in to narrow the entries down to the top 10 or 15, and then made the selection from the smaller group.

I also agree that contestants shouldn't post their entries on the forum. On the other hand, I don't want to keep people from sharing their images if they want to.

If you want to add you prizes to our prizes and combine the competitions that might work best.

item 13..its really down to the individual ,but I am pretty sure people wont display their entries before submission.

ok lets do this thing..:)

We have created a site for submitting your entries:

http://review.wizehive.com/webform/renderplus

When is the judging going to be open? I thought it was going to be today... just curious.

I have sent the entries off to the judges for preliminary screening. After then select the 6 finalists, I will let forum members vote for their favorites - then using the forum vote and the judges votes we will select the winners.
