AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi Roy,

This question was probably answered in the past already, but as I am not getting some results searching the forum, here it goes once again: I am considering to make an upgrade from Accurender nXt to nXtRender, but I want to try it first. Is it possible to have installed both programs at the same time on the same machine? One for work as full copy (my current install of Accurender nXt build 318) and the other as demo for evaluation purpose without any impact on the functionality of the first? Thanks.

Just to clarify the title of your message a little-- nXtStudio, which you're probably not asking about, is the prototype stand-alone renderer which is currently free and does install side-by-side with any version of nXt for AutoCAD.

nXtRender for AutoCAD is just a new name for AccuRender nXt.  Anything beyond build 318 is considered nXtRender and  will require a new license (we're up to build 331).  Side by side installations of multiple versions of nXt are probably possible-- although this has not been thoroughly tested.

There is little danger in upgrading-- it's similar to the process you used before.  You can always run the 318 installer and go backwards.  However, there is an additional license fee and the changes may or may not be enough to warrant the upgrade.  Take a look at what's changed before you commit.

Thanks Roy. I'll take a look at it and do some tests on my second (not main) office machine.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
