advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Can I throw in a couple of UI suggestions into the pot:

Saved material schemes.

Help us think through this idea.

I am thinking that a scheme would consist of AutoCAD Layer names and/or AutoCAD materials names cross referenced with an nXt Material name, and a repository of saved .Armaterials and then we would apply those materials to the current model (or bring up a list and let you choose which ones to apply)

What ideas to you have in mind?

I know there are some people on this forum who have to submit several different colour schemes of the same model to their clients. Then sometimes they need to transfer a particular colour scheme to a new model.

I suspect the simplest and most useful way would be layer based.

+1

As of the days of AR3.

We are thinking of this:A button to save all the current Layer Material Settings - including:

a.) the name and values for any nXtMaterials,

b.) the name and basic information for any AutoCAD materials addigned by layer,

c.) The color for any other AutoCAD Layers.

This would be saved as a single file (called a nXt Material Style File), and could be reloaded into the current drawing, or loaded into other drawings (with similar layer names).

1. Would this work for you.

2. Are b.) and c.) valuable, or would it be OK just to save nXt Materials? (and save us a little work)

I would have though only (a) was necessary, but someone else may have a different opinion.

Unless anyone else chimes in, we will start with a) only. It is easier if we don't have to start saving and modifying AutoCAD materials.

We can always add B and C later if we need them.

Hi guys, I already renew my license and It will be really nice to get back old ar3 cameras, much better (at least for me)  than  autocad cameras.

Maybe it would be worth if together with option a) there would be an option to save all materials as .armaterial with one click (and chose the path where to save them, of course).

I still assign materials mostly by Layers so the b option is what I will go with like I say, like it use to be in AR3, days.

You probably actually mean (a)-- which is nXt Materials by layer.  In (b), Al is referring to non-nXt (AutoCAD) materials by layer.

Ok then a, nxt Materials by layer.

We just released a Layer Material Scheme feature which saves all your nXtRender Material-by-Layer settings, with the nXtMaterials into a single file which can then be reloaded and re-assigned into the same drawing, or a different drawing. Take a look - Layer Materials Schemes

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More
