AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Roy,

I have a model I did earlier in the Nxt development that is a pretty big model. You may remember it was a living community built on a oil platform (called Seastead).

I pulled it up over the weekend, segregated the lights onto logical channels (the channels were not in the builds at the time I was working with this model).

I then tried to render using the path tracer. It ran for about the first pass then crashed my Acad to the desktop without any messages or warnings. I then ran it on the original particle tracer and it runs fine. Is there a limitation of the number of lights you can use (or should try to use) when using the path tracer that is different than the original rendering engine?

Shouldn't be a lights issue.  If it's 32 bit it's likely an address space memory issue.  The two engines can have different memory requirements.  If it's not a memory issue I'm very interested in the model.

I would say that as well but this was on my home machine and it is a 64 bit OS. It is Vista but has never given me grief to this point. Got a quad core processor (I'm not sure of the clock speed).

I rebooted my machine and started only acad and Nxt and it did the same thing.

It is a big file but I have worked with much larger files with no problems (it's about 28 Meg).

I'm interested-- upload it if you're willing.

Sorry for the delay. I forwarded the model. Hope you can figure out what is giving me issues.

I lied when I said it was totally mine. I forgot Ted Kyte donated the awsome generator.

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
