AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi,

I tried to produce Fog in my Modell to see sun beams, so I have used the Wiki for the settings but no fog appears:

outdoor

300000Pixel

Pathtracer on

scattering o.o5

channels 2 (0 sun, 1 sky with 0.2 densitiy)

2000 pathes with renderfarm

no plane clips

My Aca2009 uses "DACH-Templates", could there any unit-settings that prevent the fog?

Is there a detailed setting Instruction / File for a fog example?

greetings from Germany

Outdoor fog can be tricky-- attach an image of what you're currently getting.  I'll verify that it's still working after the last round of changes.

Do make sure your units are correct for the model.

Hi,

in the attachement you see 5 images:

in my tries there is no fog when you render via renderfarm (file Testnxt1 with fog=1 rendered in nxt and with the same settings file TestRF1 rendered with renderfarm).

Then I rendered in nxt with fog 0.1 and 0.05 and there is no different (Files Testnxt01 and Testnxt005).

Wenn I zoomed into the fogbox I have have seen the fog the first time (Testnxtzoom005).

But when I change settings, the fogbox or the view fog could disapear, but I can't find a rule for the error. Function seames to me not stable.

So far my tries.

Why does renderfarm ignore the fog?

greetings

Fog has not been implemented yet in the render farm (the farm is Build 250 and fog showed up in 254).  I'll update the farm when I get a stable build.  We're still picking up a few problems with the current build cycle.

Send your test drawing and I'll take a look at the units to make sure nothing's wrong.  Either attach it here (if it's small), or use the Upload link.

Hi, here's my file.

PS: Changes in fog settings are applied only after saving the file.

Definitely something strange going on.  Probably my problem.  Investigating today.

It looks like your viewpoint needs to be inside the fog box for it to work properly. In your case you are located slightly outside the box.  Make the fog box bigger and you should be able to play with it.  You'll need to use much lower values for scattering.  The example below uses 0.01.  It's still a very difficult effect to play with-- I'm not happy with it yet.
