AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi guys,  I am bit concerned about rendering time, I am rendering and interior with exterior and interior lights, and I think i will need about  1500 passes to solve this image, with my computer this mean around 72 hours. The 3d is modeled using solids, and the bed and chairs are 3ds models imported to the drawing.  If I transform all the solids to faces can help to solve the rendering time issue?. Is there some nice tricks to reduce rendering time?

I am quite happy with the image quality, I  know I need a better machine but  maybe some guys outhere have some tricks to reduce rendering time.

Help will be trully aprecciated.

Thanks in advance,

Alejandro

Hola Alejandro,

Very nice image.

None of the suggestions mentioned above will matter very much to the Path Tracer.  I wouldn't bother.

This is a lighting issue.  If you've got the direct sunlight in a separate channel from the sky lighting you may be able to analyze some of the source of the noise.  In your drawing,  I suspect much of the noise comes from the small patch of direct sunlight on the balcony and entering the room.  If you have the drawing in a format such as this, try turning the sun channel off and see if the noise largely goes away.  It may provide some insight.

Of course, I really like what you've done with the lighting in this room.  If it were up to me, I wouldn't change anything.  A little judicious use of PS can go a long way to filtering out residual noise.  Completely resolving an image like this would be a good candidate for the cloud, or for a PC with many cores (both of these are hopefully coming soon.)

Yes Roy, as usual you have a good answer, is a lighting issue. Here is the image  with the channel 0 with 0 as value

I'm assuming you've got some skylight in this one-- has the sky been turned down in intensity significantly (or the lights boosted)?  It has the look of a very dark Seattle sky. More skylight might work a little better (this is a very nice image in any case.)

If you want to add direct sunlight without experiencing quite as much noise, you can try adding more of it (by changing the sun direction so the sun penetrates deeper into the room.)  It may not be the lighting you're looking for, of course.

Thakns Roy for your input, I like the original image. I will let this image cook  until tomorrow an then if neccesary some PS.    In this case this is how the sun enters to the room so I want to mantain the sun direction.

Sounds like a good plan.  Since you know that most of the noise comes from the direct sunlight component, you may be able to reduce it somewhat in the Image Editor by turning that channel down a little.  It's possible you'll be able to retain both the feel of the original and get some noise reduction as well.  You can try it with your current image.  On the other hand, doing this will affect the simulation.  You'll be simulating more of a filtered sunlit day.

Here is the image with channel 0 in 0, channel 1 in a very small value and 1 in the interior lighting, and replacing the background with a night image in PS. I learn a lot in this thread.

En todo caso Alejandro la imagen esta excelente! Me encanta el reflejo del piso, para no hablar del cuadro!

Muchas gracias por tu elogioso comentario.
