AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Here are some early results with a new engine that automatically incorporates caustics into the calculation.  Each of these ran for about 10 minutes on the 12-core machine.

This one show sunlight bouncing off of a faceted mirror ball and creating caustics on the walls and floor.  With this engine, all of the direct lighting which enters the space through glass is considered a caustic-- so the patches of direct sunlight on the floor are also caustics. The direct skylight striking the table is also a caustic.

Marc Chaumier's model-- swimming pool caustics resolve quickly and automatically.  Light on the pool sides is correct.  Indirect lighting under the arcade is smooth.

Se ven bien, para cuando podremos probar esto nosotros? Saludos

Soon.

Couple of questions:

Is the new engine faster than the Path tracer?

If you set the window glass ior to 1.0 or remove the glass, would the render run faster?

Hard to say-- scene dependent.  Here's an equal time comparison for one of yours-- ~10 minutes, daylighting only.

There is a good news for render man of AR

Caustics are really convincing, soft shadow to... You say it resolve automatically... Does it seems that the caustic button will disappear?

Yes.  Caustics become a necessary part of daylit interiors.

Working on lights.  After about ten minutes:

Overnight:

Muy buenos resultados Roy. Ya quisieramos probar! Saludos
