AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Well, I knocked up small tutorial for those who are interested in ivy planting. :D I'd use different approach than Mike did as it's rather unlikely for majority of us to have 3DS Max. So I'd used some other software, absolutely free, yet very powerful. Hope you'll like it.

George.

Fantastic George! So well explained! Long time ago I tried to do this, but I had NO IDEA on how to use Blender. The only thing is that I have to understand how to create multiple ivys into Ivy generator!!!

Glad it's useful. You have to make them one by one, in any number. Click on model (green spot)-> grow them -> generate them -> export them. Again, click, grow, generate, export..... :D without leaving ivy generator with imported model. Once you generate all needed ivy plants you can leave ivy generator and go to blender.

Ok, that's what I've suspected! :)

Thanks for share George!

Thanks George!!!!!!

George Ioannidis, thanks for your sharing. The software also have no contact with. Don't know whether 3 DMAX also can make?

I would like to ask all who will try this to report any problems or ambiguities may arise. Thanks.

If everything went fine, ivy textured mesh should have assigned material with it. So the only thing you have to do to assign the right bitmaps to three materials ivy brought into nXt: bark, young and older leaves. Just open each material, go to Texture Map tab, and assign bitmap of leave and bark. You can use any leave you want, just be sure you use bitmaps with opacity alpha channel. No need to do anything else as UV mapping of each leave is ready from IVY generator, the scale of bitmap does not matter as well.

well done copy cat george....:D:D:D:D:D:D

Hi George, one question ..., there will be some much simplified process for working with Autocad & Ivy Generator ??  using some other software to import-export, par example...??

Thanks again !

Hi Carlos,

The "other" way is just to use Blender's internal Ivy generator (I think it's based on external IVY application, so parameters and all the other stuff are very similar). That way one can avoid back and forth conversions from Blender to IVY and from IVY back to Blender. This method requires some basic knowledge of Blender though (handling, materials etc.) It's well worth of it as Blender has also very nice ROCK and TREE generator (and of course loads of other great stuff :D ). Maybe I'll try to get fixed another tut for them one day :D
