AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Can I do this??????????????   with a material.

I have a background image which I need to see, I have a structure (house) which is the main part of the image, it sits on this background and I wish for it to throw a shadow onto a 3d face with a material that only shows shadow.

The material needs to only receive the shadow, but be Transparent for the background image to show behind. So if it works it will look like the shadow is over the background image.

Anyone got some ideas on settings???

Thanks

Ian

Standard render engine only--

Use the Object Property called Alpha Channel to tag the object in question.  You should get shadows (the other engines will work but will not show shadows.)  The example below uses a ground plane-- but any object will work.  If you wish to use other engines you'll need to do a couple of renderings and build the mask by hand.

Ok that worked, thanks for that,

Now how do you control the strength of the shadow?

Photoshop or eq.-- it's in the alpha mask.

or e.g. Sun (Sky, or HDRI) intensity... :)

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
