AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

When one first brings a model up in AR5 nXt the mass will render out gray. This is a nice unintended effect that works well for massing model studies.

Previously I had asked here how to get back to that default gray look and was reminded that the "Use Material" toggle can turn off your material assignments, effectively simulating the original unassigned state.

Well, now I have a client request to see only the addition to the building in color / materials and the rest or existing building in gray. I plan to do this within AR5 nXt so I don't have to do extensive photo manipulation in postproduction. Parts of the addition are both behind and in front of the existing in my view.

If I need to create an actual material that will render and act like the null material state what would be the settings for such be? I started to try and build one out of the original solid color examples that Roy made a year or so ago but it is coming our a bit "glossy", not with a shine, but there is something of a sheen that the "no material" button does not have.

I need to have my materials turned on to render the new portions and just need to assign a material that recreates the default material.

I do NOT want to render the whole thing twice for a complex photo combination as that would take twice as long (over a day) on my machine and then I would have to do added photo edits.

If someone could just create such a material file and post it that would save a great deal of experimental trial and error.

on one of recent posts Roy did explain the default settings ... sorry, I do not have time now to search for it, but it is very recent
Solid color template material-- color = 0.7,0.7,0.7 (179, 179, 179)
Thanks so much for the info. Ah, 0.7 and not 0.5, OK got it. And the solid color template directly off the "new material" tab. Great.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
