Decals and maps washing out under normal lighting or overstaurated

Still learning NXT and having an issue of graphics getting washed out under normal lighting situations. Any Ideas or settings I'm missing.

Thanks for any help...

Does the decal have any reflective properties assigned to it?

Sorry for the late reply everyone...

I have posted two images (the design and the logo graphic in question). If you look at the logo graphic you will see it is much darker that it renders in the image. The graphic does not have any reflective properties. I have also tried rendering it as a material and a decal  with the same result. The only success I had with it was when I darkened the logo significantly ans saved it as another decal. The lights seem to wash it out a lot.

Thanks for the help...

Yep-- add contrast to the decal (darken the dark parts).  If you want it to stay black use black.

Hi Roy,

Is there any reason the decals are washing out.? If darkening the decal is the only solution I will accept it and do it. All the years I have been using AR4 I never had this issue. The decals would show up as they were designed with only gentle washing with the lights. Just curious.

Thanks,

Rod

It sometimes happened with ar4 also-- adding some contrast to decals has always been a trick I've recommended to people. The new tone-op is a bit more aggressive with this so you'll see near blacks get fairly grayish in a hurry. Keep blacks black and saturated colors fully saturated if that's how you want them to look.

Ok thanks for the help Roy...

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
