AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I'm an old Accurender 3.1 user from years ago and just getting started with nXt. The one thing missing is a material library. I've downloaded the nXtMaterials.msi install file and attempted to run it, but I continually get an error message saying "could not access network location...\MyDocuments\\AccuRender nXt Materials."

No matter if I create a folder in the "my documents" folder with that name, or run the program from that location; always the same result.  Also not sure why the error message has a double backslash "\\" before the "Accurendet nXt Materials".

In any case, I am in a rush to produce something and a good selection of materials would be a great time saver. Any help in installing these materials would be apprecaited.

just try to open .msi package using 3rd party software and copy materials to the location of your choice - you can load them from there
I didn't know you could use 3rd party apps to open an msi file. Anny suggestions on what to use? A google search gets me chasing my tail with command line options on the msi installer and other programming tools.

If you're uncomfortable running an admin install from the command line, you could try this one (I just did, it worked fine.)

You could also wait for me to get this figured out-- I didn't write the installer so I'm not sure what's up here.  We should probably just have a .zip format one available for folks also.

Thanks! That worked!

"Found 'Textured Mesh Support' only works with obj and 3ds Files which do not contain PBR Maps. To 'obj' converted newer 3ds do not render in nXt :-("

OBJ Plant Issue - Diffuse Maps

Hi to anyone;maybe a similar issue as Mr.Holz announced recently, (PBR Texture question):-added a obj. plant via 'Textured Mesh Objects' widget-reassigned maps (materials showed up, but with no maps attached, (although mtl. files are  in the same folder as corresponding maps and obj files)-tried to render (see 'result')So my question is: Does anybody knew about how to handle Diffuse Maps in nXt, i suspect there is no interpretation of the UV-Coordinates?Any hints and help kindly appreciated!…See More

"Thanks for your kind words. Yes, all plants are generated with nxt plant-editor. I have used leaves from Marc Chaumier's plant library. (Download/ Content + Entourage)"
