Does it give an error msg. when it fails? Is there an event log entry?

No. The icon pops up in the system tray for a fraction of a second and then disappears.
I can't find any event log, though I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for.

Same place you found the event long before. Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->View Event Logs should work. Look at Windows Logs->Application look for something very recent.

I can't see anything there relating to nXt apart from the installation.

Something else is up. Can you install and run on one of the nodes that was working before?

All versions run on two of the nodes, but only build 315 works on the other two.

This is very likely an authorization problem-- two is the limit for a free farm. We'll get it figured out.

Well done Roy, that did the trick.
It makes sense as I did notice that when I launched the ones that worked it said (Evaluation copy) or something like that in the header bar.
