AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

we got plenty of 3DS files with properly mapped textures. All of them do look good in 3rd party viewer (DeepExploration)

we are not able to convert them to OBJ files that nXt can read.

What are proper settings?

Certainly Roy what happen with this archives type?...The most of them no work properly...Thanks
Have you tried without converting them? I believe the textured mesh importer will bring in native 3ds files.
yeah, we did. We have 3DS file+textures. DeepExploration shows all of it correctly mapped etc. ... If I go for 3DS import, I receive fatal error. Please note: 3DS file is 500kB and textures are another 2MB. If I go for conversion to OBJ (which I can do from DeepExploration woth numerous options) I have an OBJ file 30MB big, which usually ends up ... like nothing. No error message, no prompt to set location...nothing. Couple of times, I succeeded to get a file across, but I am not able to repeat 3DS-OBJ conversion settings ... what these are supposed to be? How and using what software could I find if my OBJ file is suitable to be used in nXt?
Send the 3ds file + textures if you can (via the upload page-- not attached here.) I'll take a look at it when I have a chance.
File ready for upload, but, lease - where is that "Upload page"? I cannot find it...
I was expecting that page to be on this web. Now I only hope that roy@mcneel.com is OK. File uploaded.
I got it-- it will be a couple of days at least before I can look into it.
does not matter... I just want to know...actually, it would be nice not to have to use 3rd party software to make textured OBjs out of 3ds+textures...it would be even nicer if there (accustudio) was some collection of nicely working ones to download...
What i usually do is to use SketchUp the Pro. I import in sketchUp and export as *.dwg format. From there nxt can work with it.
Hi, my experience is that when you work with simple models generally this work, when I tried complex models as flowers in vase, I usually got problems, if I use the 3ds file some part is missing, if I transform in a Autocad mesh some part get lost.
