AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Somewhere along the line when we set up our new computer (Win 10) we goofed on the file associations of the material and trees files. The icons within WIndows Explorer don't read...the tree icons are blank and the material icons are all just a red sphere (we associated the material files with XtMaterialEditor64.exe today, trying to fix it....they were previously just blank like the trees).

Under ?, About...it says we are on nXt version 1.0.348

Under ?, RPS License, it says Product: nXtRender for AutoCAD; Version: NK21w 1.0

Hard to select/insert trees and materials without previews...

Any help appreciated...Thanks.

Try running this batch file called reg_thumb.bat to see if that fixes it.

We tried that after doing a forum search...no luck.

Associate found this on the forum...that we are about to try (be back):

This is Windows 7-- 8 and 10 are similar.  Basically you need to run regsvr32.exe to register the thumbnail handler.  It needs to be run elevated (as an Administrator).

Try the following:

  1. Make sure you're logged in as an Administrator.
  2. In the start menu All Programs->Accessories right click on the Command Prompt applet and select Run as Administrator.
  3. In the command prompt window, navigate to the accurender folder by typing in the cd command with the path usually cd "c:\program files\accurender nxt"
  4. at the new command prompt type: regsvr32 armatthumb64.dll

^ This worked....Credit to my associate Al for finding Roy's forum post fix....

This was also part of Roy's instructions....and was required for it to work for us:

"You will need to restart explorer for this to work-- easiest way is to log out and back in."

Thanks, I'll have to remember that trick.

Me as well....Search is our friend.
