AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

what is todays state of affairs?

I need to have nice water:

On one hand, I think of caustics, on the other I would like to use SSS - but it was said these two do not go along well - what approach to employ?

as of caustics - I thought caustics needs to have solid volume to come into play, in other words there would be no use of caustics in the case of one face as Roy suggests for pools - am I wrong?
I use region (one face) as the pool water and play with caustic. The play on procedural bump (no diplacement) produce caustic variations.
so, to be 100% sure - CAUSTICS DOES NOT NEED SOLIDS, IT AFFECTS ALSO ONE-FACE SURFACES?
I think that caustics doesn't need solids, but when I make of some assertion, Roy comes to say the opposite ;o) Joke! It would be nice if you try to model your water with just one region (modelisation tools, solids edition, copy faces) as I said it a little farther.
Here is what I got with x&y at 0.2, z at 1.0, strength at 0.08.

very crude, but this is what I got with rubble at akinlolu´s settings (x,y,z 1500, strength 0,044)

In your case, z should be always less than x,y - you have it vice versa...

How come my preview looks like this after all the above parameters?

check the units, and the size of your sample.
Check the units in millimetre.

So, here is the problem, I work in meters and so in my autocad, 1unit= 1 meter.

But check the size of the sample anyway...

And now, after 250 pass. I think my settings are good for little surfaces, perhaps for an ocean, I will try something else.
To me this is rather a lot of motion for a pool of water with only wind activity. Looks nice I must say. IMHO should be more like this.

Questions for nxt render for autocad

Good day everyone,Can anyone here help me with these issues i keep having with nxt render for autocad ?1. How do you bring in textured models into autocad ( 3ds and obj) without losing their textures or having to re-assign them.2. How do you move these objects from place to place without experiencing viewport refresh sluggishness in the autocad viewport ?3. How do you add dirt to fabric textures for rendering.4. How do you avoid repeat patterns in textures for rendering ?See More
