AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

on xfrog trees, I experienced the following problem: the material uses alpha masking and the mask is not 100% transparent. Rendering, material definition and texture are attached.

The same problem experienced on nXt trees earlier on

Send the drawing and I'll take a look.  This should work fine-- one obvious thing that will mess things up is if the refractive background is set to something different.

Thanks, drawing being uploaded. Different settings of the refractive background as well as different fresnel and IOR settings tried before uploading with no avail...

BTW: what is the correct setting for the refractive background? And what is the diffference between "Sky" and "Visible" settings?

 

The Visible Sky Intensity was set to 0.3.  The Refractive Sky Intensity was set to 1.0.  I made them both 1.0 and got the following picture.

thank you, this setting works nicely - I cannot remember why would I change the Visible Sky intensity...otoh, some time in the future, I think changing this should not cause the mask to appear...

It will-- don't change these.

Sky causes the refractive background to match the sky.  Visible causes the refractive background to match the visible background.  Don't change these.

No.  Some versions of XFrog can produce textured meshes that nXt can read via the Widgets menu.  See the recent thread on Flora and Fauna.  There are some problems using these in AutoCAD, such as very large meshes.

This is a remake of one of Peter Milner's scenes. I dont have the file. I photo-matched it in sketchup and rendered in nxt render for autocad.I just retouched it and increased the resolution.
