AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I just started having issues. If I hit the walkabout icon I get the window (Blank) and a messege that there has been an error and something is trying to write to protected memory. I then cancel out and get stuck in a loop of a dialog telling me there is a command in progress and will not let me cancel out. I end up having to close the program using the task manager.

Must be something on my end. As soon as I hit the walkabout button it brings up the walkabout window, blank, and displays the Acad dialog that I am trying to access protected memory. What is wierd is it is only this model and only occurs when I try to use Nxt.

I am using Acad 2008 on Win7.

32 or 64 bit?
64 bit
I don't have a 2008 64-- I did try with ACA 2009-- no crash.

I am going to pack up the file and take it to my home office over the weekend. I run 2008 64 bit there as well but on a Vista 64 platform. I have a hunch this my be a Win7 issue (running my 2008 Acad).

I officially sold the project yesterday and will end up with 6 different versions of this model. Going into a five star resort.

Roy,

The file performed fine on my Vista Business OS at home.

Brought it back into work and it ran a rendering of the existing view from the walk about. After that it started throwing the dialog boxes and lock-ups. Have to exit using the three fingered solute.

I think it is some conflict with WIN7.

Not likely, I tested here on Win7.  This sort of thing is more likely related to video drivers, probably the AutoCAD piece. There may be something you can set in the AutoCAD 3d config stuff or there may be a driver update out there you can install.

I'll look into updated video drivers.

I'd hate to have to revert to only doing rendering work at my home office so I can use an outdated OS.

It's certainly nothing to do with Win7 and nXt.  My main build box is Win7.  It's not out of the question that there are conflicts with Acad 2008 and Win7.

I've been running Acad 2008 with WIN7 without any issues at all.

I've only had issues with this one file and only when trying to use Accurender.

Seems odd it runs just fine on my other machine. I still need to look into the driver update.

Windows has determined the driver software for your devise is up to date. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE

The only other thing I can think of to try right now, other than updating AutoCAD, is to try 3dconfig->Manual Tune and start turning some of the acceleration stuff off to see if it makes a difference.  We're shooting in the dark here.
