Use the Remove Material from Object button on the material palette and select the offending object(s). We sometimes see, particularly with older models or models created with 3rd party software, objects or subobjects which have material assignments listed as Global instead of ByLayer. This should clear up the problem (let me know.)

Also check the system variable "_CMATERIAL" and make sure it is set to ByLayer. This variable determines the default assignment of newly created objects.
hi roy i tried ur method but still it dun work. i attached a model and apply all timber material but some still render as white as shown in the image. u may use ur own material to test. hope to hear from u soon. rushing a dateline...... thank man

When I check the timber timber 26 material and I tried to edit, the default material in the edit window appears as white, first remove material from object, them reload the material from nxt material and reapplied. let me know if this work. It works for me....

Just close (using the X) and re-open the WalkAbout window to see the changes.
hi roy i own accurender 3,4 and nxt now. can advise how to change between Photometric and non-photometric render in all these 3 version ?
nXt does not have a non-photometric mode. I don't remember how to change modes in ar3/ar4.
