AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi,

We have AutoCAD 2012 with nXt latest build installed and we are experiencing very strange issues when rendering - and it isn't happening every time either... On some occasions when we try to render we get a black redering window and the window heading is Preparing Rendering but nothing happens. On other occasions, with the same base drawing, the render works fine.  We have been teasing this out for a few days now and have come to some sort of conclusion that it might be something to do with the materials but we aren't conclusivly sure.  Any help or pointers in the right direction would be incredibly useful.  We are running Windows 7 64bit on Dell T3400 with 8GB RAM, SSD and Quadro FX 1700 graphics card.  I will throw up some screen shots later whan I'm back in the office but any guidance in the mean time would be helpful.

Try purging the model.

Then audit or recover the model just to clean out damage entities, if there are any?

Besure to make another copy before carry out the second step and also right click within the material panel of NXT UI and refresh to clean out purged and used materials from the material panel.

Hi Akinlolu,

Yes we have tried purging to clean out all entities but it is still an intermittant and confusing issue.

It is not consistant - retarting Acurender and AutoCAD sometimes resolves and re can render again but then it crashes again later unexpectedly... I can seem to identfy where the cause is...

Have you tried the audit command, to repair damages entities?

A bit of investigative working might be needed too to zero in on the problem. try removing entities one by one and rendering till the problem entity is found.

Send the model if possible-- I'll take a look.  Use the Support->Upload a File option above if you decide to go that route.

OK - so it looks like something in the materials or elsewhere was causing the problem - even after a purge it was still giving strange results and not rendering - we resorted to an polder version of the file and it is working OK - Im afraid I don't have a better answer to this one but it is working now at least.

We have another issue about the speed of rendering now but I'm going to start that on a new thread.

thanks for your help everyone.

I'm still interested if you have a version that isn't working and are willing to share.

I'll ask the technician to send you on the drawing over the next few days as we are working on a highly competetive project at the moment.

"For compatibility with AutoCAD 2026 you would need to purchase a license upgrade for nXtRender (AccuRender).  As an AR5 license holder you are eligible for a discount which we can give to you if you contact us at support@renderplus.com."

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
