AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Here's an early look at a product I've been working on.  It's a version of nXt that runs outside of a host modeler such as AutoCAD.  Remember, it's early, so a lot of things aren't working yet.  I'm still very interested in opinions.  I'm not going to explain how it works-- I'm interested in people's reactions-- so ask questions if you need to.

Download the 64-bit version.

Download the 32-bit version.

The thing uses a file format called .nXtScene.  These are subsets of XML so you can examine the files in a variety of editors or browsers if you want.  Here are some sample files to download:

Material Scene 000.nXtScene -- A scene useful for creating materials.

Room.nXtScene -- Scott Davidson's interior model.

Aloha3.nXtScene-- One of our oldest models

To create your own nXtscene file from AutoCAD you need to download Build 313 (unannounced, but available now as the latest build.)  Set up your mdel and type (nXtWrite), parentheses and all, at the command line.  Start with smaller models first before you get very ambitious.

Let me know.

NXT Studio...fantastic

I like this project! It sounds very interesting!

I have tried to install (64bits version) but I couldn´t.

Perhaps I need AccuRender/Nxt already installed?

I am sure this will be great, since you will finnally get rid of Autocad limitations!

I have issues.  When I hit the download 64 bit version of nXt Studio Product, I get a page as shown in the first attachment

When I downloaded the latest version od Nxt Render (0330) and ran install, I received the second error (second atteched.

After loading Acad2013 and running the command nXt I got an error

"Load failed due to missimg module - Unknown Command)"

I re-installed an earlier version of Nxt render and received the same error (first attachment)

I ran the appload nXtRender_loadR18_64.exe with no results.

Have I lost or corrupted a system install module or?  I was using Nxt Render yesterday morning before attempting to download the nXt Studio Product program.  Right now I can find no way to load Nxt.

XP64 , Acad 2013

Have you tried, "System Restore" to go to an earlier time?

Hi akinlolu

Didn't think about before.  So I ran restore and have nXt running again.

Attempted to install the latest nXt Render software and got the same error messages.

I may try to restore to an earlier system tomorrow and see if the problem has a history I didn't know about.  The interesting thing about the whole thing is last night I did the same thing on my system at home and got the same errors.  Go figure.  Thanks for the restore suggestion. I at least have Nxt back up.

Rich-- there are two different things going on here.  The download link for nXtStudio is busted-- we do know about that.  I'll fix it at some point but it's on the back burner right now.  You will get an error trying to download this on any computer.

The second is occurring when you attempt to install the main nXtRender product.  This is a system problem on your machine related to Windows Installer.  If you google "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" you'll get some ideas.  I'm not great at helping people through this sort of thing but let me know if you can't figure it out.  This error should only be occurring on a single machine.

Thanks, Roy.  Microsoft offers a possible fix by re-registering the msiecex.exe in safe mode.  I will make this attempt some time later.  There are a number of web sites offering programs to do the same thing.  I hesitate to run unknown programs on the system.  As of now, I ran restore from a week ago and have nXt back up.  I tried two weeks ago but had no luck with the installer.  Who knows how far back I may, or can go.

Thanks again guys.

IM  trying to download 64 bit version, many times,  but in all, I have this message error.

Error>
<Code>AccessDenied</Code>
<Message>Access Denied</Message>

</Error>

That's right-- the link is currently broken.  I'll get it fixed in a day or two.

Download link for nXtStudio should be working again.  No changes to the product yet.
