AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Vertical black lines appearing on materials and RPC trees

RPC trees are rendering with rectangles containing black vertical lines, and the materials on the buildings are also displaying undesired thin black vertical lines.  AutoCAD Architecture units/insertion units are set correctly to meters.  Neither of these issues appear when using ACA's native renderer.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

This is often a precision problem due to the units being set incorrectly.  Use the AutoCAD _DDUNITS command and verify that your insertion units are correct.  Let me know.

Again, as far as I can tell, Roy, the units are set correctly (see attached settings).  This project is entirely in meters.  Is there, maybe, some other units variable that needs to be adjusted?  Would changing 'generic' lighting to 'international' help?

Thanks.

Type _INSUNITS at the command line and let me know what you get.  If it does come back as 6 (meters) then try the following:

  1. Make sure nXt is loaded-- type nXt before all of this.
  2. Type _INSUNITS 1 to change the units to inches
  3. Type _INSUNITS 6 to change them back to meters
  4. Try rendering and see if the problem persists

If this doesn't make it go away, I'll need to take a look at the drawing.

Well, I tried all of that with no success - but it looks like I just solved the problem by moving the entire model to the 0,0.

Thanks for the effort and, of course, for responding quickly.

Alan

Ah-- sorry-- forgot about that one.  Yes-- models which are too far from the origin can cause similar precision problems as using incorrect units.  Your problem is actually more common and should have been the first thing I thought of.
