AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the grain mapping in the attached image.

All five of the items in the foreground are blocks that were created with edges parallel with the X-Y axes and saved with material assignment by layer,

The wood material has a jpeg map of woodgrain laminate applied with rotation = 0.

All five blocks are inserted with rotation of 45 degrees.

The three tables have the grain running as would be expected if the grain mapping was following the orientation of the block.

The riser on top of the large table shows grain mapped as though it was applied universally, regardless of the block orientation.

The low platform on the left is inexplicable.  It looks like it's rotated maybe 75 degrees from 0.

What am I missing?

My guess is that some of these items have a mapping attached to them and some don't-- but it's only a guess. I'd need the model to diagnose it a little more fully.

If you want to try and fix it yourself-- I would try going back to each block definition and using the Quick Mapping option on the materials tab to attach a mapping and then redefining the block. Mapping is required if you want the grain to follow the block-- otherwise it will use a universal mapping which is always parallel to the world XYZ axes.

If you want to send the model use the Support->Upload a File option.
the direction of the map on the lowest step seems to follow the overall direction of shadows...maybe that helps.
