AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Adds support for *.skp files to the Texture Mesh Object.  Performance is a little slow for large files.  Let me know if it works.

Installed new build. Trying to load SKP file, getting this:

Ah-- makes sense.  I need to change the installer to add some 32 bit files.  Give me an hour or two.

Fixed (I think-- I can't really test it here so I'll need your help.)  Download the thing again-- the 64bit download package is called _0318a-- and install it.  Let me know.

After reinstalling new build I am getting this, trying to run nXt:

After that, AutoCAD crashes and closes.

Oops.  Try the next one (318b) when you can.

Hi Roy, I have the same problem. Where to download the 318b from? Thanks.

EDIT: Done! At first time there still was 318 version but now it's ok!

All look good so far. Relatively small model (SKP file of about 9MB) comes in less than minute on my system. Materials translated OK, renders fine! Looks like some great avenues of possibilities are opening right now :D Thanks Roy!

Hi Roy, thanks for this upgrade!

Could you think about the problem of water faces tagged as caustic with the pathtracer?

I was talking about it, some monthes ago...

Probably not-- use the hybrid engine for reliable caustics.

Hi Roy, many thanks for the upgrade. I'm actually converting some skp files into "nxted" dwg, but one of the big problem I find is to change the scale of some materials' textures. I upload a very simple file to test. I don't know if it depends on the original skp file or what. Thanks.

It depends on the original skp file.  The mapping is always UV and comes from the file itself.  This is not a perfect solution and will not work for every skp file.  In addition, SketchUp has some odd cases which are not handled well by my translator.  Cases which do not work will be pretty difficult and time-consuming to fix.
