AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hello all,

These are some renderings I've been working on and there are some things I'd like to improve.

I'd love to have a more natural look.. I've seen some jobs here that have this "halo" which makes them more realistic. IMO these look "cartoonish" in some way.

I would like to minimize the hairline on the alpha channel boundary.

If you would help me to input the right settings for exterior renderings like this, I'd really appreciate it. Pretty much, I'm using the standard with very little changes.

Thanks in advance for your help, guys..

Here's an update of this job.

Fixed glass, improved water, sun angle, materials revision, etc.

Thanks for all your help.

Still, the groundcover picture quality seems kinda blurry compared to the rendered objects. Any way to make them sharper?.

I'm very happy with the progress and enjoyed testing most of your tips.

I hope you like these too.

Try Path Tracer.

Thanks for your reply.

It's weird... the 3 of them are Path Tracer. I'd like to know what makes it look as it's not PT.

cheers..

They're pretty nice, really.

They may not look like path tracings to some folks because they have no remaining graininess-- that's a good thing-- these are well-converged images.

The pool one is still the strongest.  Playing with the Burn setting may give you a little more pop in all of them.

I don't know if design changes are possible.  One thing simulations can do is point out potential weaknesses in the design.  The flatter aspect of the parking lot side may, in fact, be legitimate.  The railing detail is nice but quite small for a facade of that size.  Many of the design elements are pretty massive.  In the tropics, with vertical sunlight, a little detail in relief can go a long way.

Thank you fer replying.

Yup, unfortunately, can't change any of the design, but I'll surely keep your tip in mind while bringing some of that to the board.

On the other hand, there are some omitted design details due to the "for illustration purpose only" thingy. Some specialty molding, recessed plasters and other gimmicks will be added but not in the publicity booklets and such to avoid issues.

Understood-- see if adding a little contrast with the Burn setting does anything for you. Sometimes you need to manipulate the Brightness a little also to balance things.  There's a histogram for guidance.

Hi,

The stuffs looking much better. As Roy said, the pool view is very nice and as he pointed out, you will need to play with the Brightness/Contrast(Burn) Settings in order to get a sharper and richer image.

For Stuff like Grass or Tarmac, you can use materials with more texture and deeper colours so the base is nice and strong.

regards

Thanks again for your replies.

The issues with contrast/burn/brightness are my fault because I did post-touch-up changing shadows and other stuff.

This happened (and hope all see it's importance) because I have bad settings on the monitor itself. Though it's a good quality monitor, the light in my office made me change the settings, so what I think is ok, maybe doesn't look good in the end.

I still wonder why there are no longer producing screens with shine finish. I have a NEC screen which is mirror-like surface, ultra piano black and things just look perfect on it. Problem is, it's small but I'll bring it on for the final images (yeah, it's not done).

I guess I have to look for other leaves / flowers to generate the groundcover. Still, the grass is displacement and I haven't figured out how to make it look sharper. Maybe changing the image?

Have a good one :)
