advanced rendering for AutoCAD

I certainly don't have time for something like this. After the Flamingo release, it's possible that McNeel might. Comparing nXt to other renderers directly is asking for trouble-- I wouldn't recommend this as a format for a competition.
Ok Roy, the idea is exposed, obviously you who you have to be assessed properly, perhaps with a different format would be much more effective ... but I think it would be a good way to see the potential for nxt ...
Best Regards.
to me this looks like nonsense...
...pointless.
The idea of a rendering competition is great-- but like you point out-- direct comparisons between products are very difficult.
yep. My first thought was: "just send me a dwg and let me show how good nXt could do this" ... then I started thinking it over. IMHO there are too many variables, the use of a product is too complex... direct comparison would always be inaccurate and thus pointless.
I agree, I recognize the difficulty of assessing renders comparison with others, certainly not the best format for a competition. Would welcome any competition format to allow forum users learn to use the best possible settings ..., and later power envelopes on our work ...
I think it's a positive idea ...
Sampdoria, I think this would be a good option, as it will extrapolate and compare the best render settings, opening a debate constantly improving the software ....
a greeting...
AccuStudio hosted several "competitions" like this some years ago. Link.
A model was provided that only only had a view set (no materials or lighting). We had the option of adding entourage and lighting. Entries are submitted and posted in the Gallery. Viewer could then vote on the images and after a set time frame, voting is closed and a "winner" announced.
I'm sure we can still do this. Maybe even easier now with the "new" website. Let me know if interested and I can setup the space.
in order to promote the increase of the overall knowledge of nXt, rules of such a competition should incorporate that anyone who enters it will provide all details - lighting setup, material definitions...
So waiting for a model. Hopefully Architectural - for what Nxt is mostly used here!
Then also the need to have categories, like day and night exterior entries, natural or artificial or combine interior lighting entries.
