AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Had some slack time to "play" with stuff.  I throw this image together to see what Ivy Generator would do.  Very confussing controls for me.  change, try, change, try etc.  But thats just me.  The ivy looks alright, but heavy.  The AR4 cactus plants would not texture and the NXT trees look decent.  More playing required.

There is a tutorial usually packages with the ivy generator. Check it out if you have not already done so.

Had it, lost it, need to re-download it.  I Used Georges's tutorial to muddle thru.

Thanks

Oh, Rich, I'm sorry I brought you into that. I found ivies and other vegetation models too heavy, too (to insert, edit and generally handle).

Hi George

I think Ivy Generator has "potential", but the command controls are somewhat vague as to their functions.

Your tutotial was fine to get in and save out.  The in-between is a guess and by-golly for me.  Still, it is a neat program to mess with.  The orientation mechanics baffeled me completely.  I seldom have a use for extensive vegetation, so I wont be baffeled very often.

Hi Rich

Interested in how you did your grass, it looks more than a image, it looks to have depth. Same with the mulch.

It also looks like it flows over the kerb. Is it done with the material editor? Would love to know.

I think Rich did it using displacement mapping (for grass and mulch). Unless he didn't :)

Unless I did, and I did.  I used displacement for the grass, the mulch and the brick walls.  I went displacement crazy, just to see the results.  Also to see how long the render would be.  It was long.

But... the results can be inpressive if the controls are tweeked correctly.

Have join the crazy displacement people. Used this tut..

Thanks Rich love my new grass.

Do you think that material displacement method can be used to do corrugated roof sheeting, or that pushing it to far. Also adding to the render time?

Hi Ian

I tried using displacement on a few different corrugated textures over the last year without much success.  I don't think I have strong enough (contrasting) images to work well.  I've only tried on cylinders, not flat walls.  Still, give it a test shot.  Just another learning curve.

I did something wrong, this is from the Ivy Generator into AutoCAD rendering with NXT, I would like to ask Ivy Generator How to use the NXT, this information Thank you.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More

3D_Replication final

I created this replication of one of Peter Milner's renders, not with AI but with sketchup (with the matchnewphoto tool), autocad and nxtrender.Critics and comments are welcome.
