AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

The Hybrid engine seems to have trouble rendering frosted glass.

The first image here is Path Trace and the second Hybrid. The frosted glass material is exactly the same:

Thanks-- can you send a small (or not so small) example?  You can use the upload link if it's too big or you don't want to attach it.

Uploaded.

After a quick bit of investigating, I've worked out that it is directly connected to alpha transparency.

If I tag the objects as "No alpha transparency" then they render fine as per the Path Tracer render.

Hi, this is quite interesting, so any object with translucency should be tagged as no alpha tranparency when  we render in hybrid engine?

Thank in advance

It looks that way until Roy fixes it.

Alpha transparency for translucent objects is very poor anyway. So I would take it off for any render regardless of which engine is used.

Thanks Peter,  for your quick answer.

Ah-- thanks-- I had a couple of hours scheduled to investigate-- frees that time up.  Now what do about it?  Should only perfectly smooth glass trigger alpha transparency as in the other engines or is there a better solution?

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
