AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

The Image Editor has been updated so the Glare and Depth filters (special fx) no longer cause pixellation.  See What's New for a full list.  Remember to download the "Experimental Work in Progress" version to get the latest.

Fantastic!
Thanks for that Roy. This'll save a load of time in Photoshop.
very good effect, thank you very much!
Thanks! From now, I'll use it.
Hi, I'm very happy to see progress in here. But I am not sure, if DoF is working correctly. It seems it overlays render with blurred one in dependence on the distance, so you can still see the sharp edges. So final effect appears more like fog than DoF to me. Only when I use DoF strenghth 1, sharp edges disappear completely (but blur effecet is very high then). See attached image - upper is exmaple from nXt Image Editor (242), lower image is example from Vray tutorial for camera settings where is DoF IMHO handled better...

DOF is always handled better in the renderer. There we can do a more precise job modeling a finite lense. As a post-process we're much more limited. The effect is called Depth Blur and is not the same. It is, however, much faster and more interactive. A little additional post-processing will go a long way.

Thanks for explanation. I was asking mainly because I cannot get any result from DoF in redner. I was playing with focal distance (from 2 to 40000), strength (from 0.1 to 10)...see attachment. What am I doing wrong

Attachments:

I think maximim strength is 1.0.

Try a value like 0.3 instead.

Ahh--  looks like there's something wrong with the path tracer version of this. I'll get this fixed.  In the meantime-- you should be able to at least test it out by using the other engine.  Once I get it fixed the results should be similar (a little better, actually)  Values > 1 are permitted.  1.0 should provide quite a bit for testing.

Here's an example using Engine 0 -- Strength = 1.f.

Setting the focal point is totally hit and miss when using DOF during rendering.

The pick button doen't work for the AutoCAD window rendering and there isn't a pick button in the Walkabout panel.

The only way is to measure the distance between the camera and the target. This isn't accurate either as AutoCAD doesn't allow object snap onto the camera icon.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More
