AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hello all

Attached is a simple 3 Layered Diagram Subject.

It has simple materials assigned except the middle mesh layer which is an Texture with a an Alpha Channel set to transparent.

I would like to disable any shadows generated by any of the 3 Layers, especially the mesh onto the lower layer.

I have already tagged all 3 Layers in Object Properties as Thin/Dont Shadow/Dont Receive but Im still getting shadows.

Any ideas?

regards

how about setting the property to the object directly?
It's probably not working-- I'll put it on the list to examine but I'm not going to get to it for a while.  I'm not really very excited by this sort of diagrammatic rendering.  I don't think nXt is a very good tool for it.  You might try the AutoCAD render command.
I guess I'll need to render standalones and compose in Pshop then.
If it's a diagram, why not just use a visual style in AutoCAD and then you won't need to spend time rendering.
Nope, its actually for a UK Client to show a product sectional in a rendered form but Im sure I can get around it somehow! Maybe revert back to AR Classico (ar3 :) )

This is using visual style - Conceptual:

Or realistic:

Thanks Peter, I will propose this style to him! :)
Good news, client preferred the realistic shadows render version!

Sorry to resurrect an otherwise dead thread, but the company I'm with has a material we use that absorbs shadows while appearing somewhat translucent. I can't for the life of me get the shadows cast by light sources or objects to stop appearing on the material when rendering. I've changed all combinations of Don't shadow, Don't recieve, and thin I can think of. Am I missing something or attempting the impossible? Up until now I've been able to simply manipulate the image in post or "deaden" the shadows with lighting channels and brightness. However I am suppose to be creating a close-up and I was hoping someone had an answer to this problem.

I think Photoshop is the only way for this. However, if you tag the object as alpha channel, it will make selecting it in Pshop easier.

Thanks Peter, I'll keep the alpha channel tag in mind for post.
