AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Roy,

would it be possible to save a TXT (or CSV) file, that would contain all settings of certain rendering? Not only lighting settings, but also all material definitions?

The point is: I spent quite long time tuning my materials to achieve something. Between test renderings, I do plenty of changes. Then I am trying to figure out, what is going on, what change caused which effect - it is very difficult to keep track of all changes, so I resort to guesswork.

I believe this is an issue, that everyone faces...

If you added .TXT extension to the list, it would allow to save settings on demand for future reference...having this feature, we would all learn to create better renderings much faster.

just to specify the wish a little more: I am basically asking if it would be possible to record more information into View-Info... dialog box in nXt image editor. Currently, it records whether I am using sun - I would like to record its position and intensity ... etc., etc. - save to txt option in this box would be useful too.
Understood.  At the moment, I believe you can extract lighting settings from an .nXtImage file and examine those by loading them into a blank drawing.  I'm traveling so I don't have access to the exact procedure-- as I recall it was straightforward.
Good tip, I did not notice this... it does work exactly as you did describe. If it was possible to save material settings the same way, even better

"I believe you can extract lighting settings from an .nXtImage file and examine those by loading them into a blank drawing"

This works fine... would it be also possible to incorporate all settings of all materials into .nXtImage file? Such a feature would allow to go back and to examine, what setting did what...

I am with Ros on this one, text file with grouped informations and generally all rendering settings can have many different uses.
