AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

If I attach a decal to an object and then mirror it, it renders fine on my local machine, but not at all on the render farm.

Thanks-- I'll look into it.

Any development on this one yet?

No-- and not likely for a little while.  Traveling at the moment.

Hi Roy, any progress?

I've been working on other stuff-- AccuRender Studio with rendering on the Azure Cloud, actually.

How urgent is this?  It may not have an easy solution since mirroring generally flips the surface normal and that may be causing a precision problem in the file I write to the farm.  If you can do this another way-- such as with two bitmaps-- it would probably be the fastest solution.

The problem is, I have a few thousand 3D CAD blocks containing mirrored decals which disappear when I render on the farm.

I'll bump it up and try to get to it early next week.  Not overly optimistic about an easy solution, though.

I was able to come up with a fix for this during the weekend.  It will require Build 355 of both the farm and the base product to work correctly.  I've given RenderPlus the necessary files-- they'll need to build and post a new version.  The updated farm is available on the download page.

Thank you so much Roy. I know you're busy with other things and I appreciate you sorting this out even though it only affects a small handful of people.

Not a problem-- I'm sorry I buried the request-- I didn't understand its urgency.

I posted a new version with the fix for this.

Here are the direct links to the downloads:

64 bit version:

http://www.renderplus.com/downloads/nXtRender/arnxt64_0355-OK24.exe

32 bit version:

http://www.renderplus.com/downloads/nXtRender/arnxt_0355-OK24.exe

Please try one of those and see if it fixes the problem for you.

Thanks..

It works!

Thanks very much Rich and Roy. It will save me a lot of Photoshop work over the next few months.
