AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

hi guys i am trying to achieve a visual rendered with nxt that is trace with outlines almost similar to the sketch up effect.

i tried the below

1. render in nxt

2. set nxt angle to autocad view port

3. use flatshot in autocad to create hidden lines

4. but when i superimpose the rendered image with the created hidden lines.  all the lines  run off.

anyway if i can export the lines (hidden) from nxt directly ?

did you check the aspect ratio (width x height) of the AutoCAD viewport (where did you generate hidden lines) against the aspect ratio of the nXt view (where did you generate the rendering)? Once both are the same, your lines should fit to the rendering...

The last time you could get both AR and AutoCAD to line up like this was AutoCAD 2006.

After 2007 changes in the way AutoCAD handled the rendering environment prevented a perfect 1:1 relationship. Now the only way I know of to get the effect you are talking about is to manually set the two rendering environments to the exact same ratio which is a bit of a task given that the AutoCAD environment is completely dependent on what tool bars and dialog box settings you have running unless you set up a special rendering output.

I would have to use an image editor to confirm the actual pixel x pixel size and even then I believe there would be a 1 pixel difference running along the very top of the AR5 nXt rendering.

Bottom line is you will have to do a good deal of work to create this effect as there is no hidden wireframe mode in AR5 unless you count the walkabout OpenGL view which I believe is limited by screen resolution.

Here's a quick experiment I did.

Set up model, display as Realistic and plot to pdf, then change display to Sketchy and plot again.

Combine the 2 images in Photoshop.

Takes about 5 minutes in total.

Peter, so this was rendered in AutoCAD and combined in Photoshop?

Was AR5 used at all?

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More

3D_Replication final

I created this replication of one of Peter Milner's renders, not with AI but with sketchup (with the matchnewphoto tool), autocad and nxtrender.Critics and comments are welcome.
