advanced rendering for AutoCAD
Here's the latest version of the new stuff. If you're interested, try it at your leisure and let me know what you find. It's a work in progress, so please be kind. We'll likely have some bugs and certainly have some missing features.
******
Some highlights:
Standalone renderer which accepts input from Rhino, Sketchup, Obj and FBX.
Plugins for AutoCAD and other CAD applications.
Online material and plant libs.
Single advanced engine with fewer compromises and biases. Similar to current hybrid engine but noisier.
*******
AccuRender Studio is 64 bit only and will not run on 32 bit machines.
On older machines, the installation may require updating .net versions which can be a lengthy process. Windows 10 is recommended (but not required.)
The AutoCAD plugin can be run with or without a recent version of nXtRender loaded.
If you run the plugin without nXtRender, you will get only AutoCAD information in the ArScene file. If nXtRender is loaded some conversion of nXt information will occur.
Instructions:
1. Download and install AccuRender Studio.
2. Open an AutoCAD session.
3. Load the correct .net AccuRender Studio plugin for your version of AutoCAD by typing netload at the command prompt (not appload!) and navigating to
c:\program files\AccuRender Studio. The plugin versions are:
ArStudioAcadPluginR19.dll (AutoCAD 2013-2014)
ArStudioAcadPluginR20.dll (AutoCAD 2015-2016)
ArStudioAcadPluginR21.dll (AutoCAD 2017)
ArStudioAcadPluginR22.dll (AutoCAD 2018)
You should only have to do this step once. The file will be demand loaded after that.
4. Optionally load nXtRender (by typing nxt at the command line, for example).
5. Type arstudio at the command line to run the command. It will inform you if the correct version of nXtRender was found. If not, an update from RenderPlus may be required.

Thanks-- try this one. I'll fix the entry above as well.
I downloaded and installed Accurender Studio.
Everything works so far, but what brings me that now?
The images that I create with Accurender Studio, I can also generate with Accurender 5.
Will Accurender Studio also be available in German?
Is there any help for Accurender Studio?
Unfortunately plants in AR5 are not taken over and displayed in Accurender Studio. Why?
Warum?
It's a new engine, new material formats, new plants, etc.. Working right now on an easy way to render on the Cloud. Yes, we will have other language versions at some point, not quite yet. I'm also working on converting legacy plants and improving the AutoCAD plugin generally.
Hey Roy,
Do I need to be running the latest version or NXTRender to make this work. I am on version 1.0.354 on AC2016. Accurender Studio runs, sees materials...etc. no preview, nothing rendered.

Not exactly. You'll get more AccuRender stuff coming across if you've got the latest loaded. It will work without nXt though. Try adjusting the view. You may be inside a wall or something. Send a link to the model if you can't figure it out.
I did finally get this to work. Thanks Roy
Me too-- I changed to one of your named views in the Cameras tab.
So...tell me more about materials and lighting. What is carried over and what is not? The online materials don't even come close to what I need or am already using. Is this going to change. Is there a way to use my current materials? ...mapped images?
I'm about to take another look at the AutoCAD side of things-- so the short answer is I can't remember.
Currently you get a lot more information if one of the newer nXtRender versions is loaded when you type ArScene. Otherwise I've only got AutoCAD info-- the two products need to interact in order to for me to access all of the information.
We should be able to do better even with just the AutoCAD info. I'll take a look at yours soon and see what I can do.
There are both online and local materials. I've got conversion libraries so I'll write an executable for you to start converting local legacy materials (I may actually have one already.)
Our server is down for the day, so I've had a chance to look over this. Sorry if I seem a bit dense here I just downloaded the plug in to play around with. If I'm understanding this correctly you use ARSCENE to save a new file type then work using AR studio to further work with it? Are there any advantages to using this plugin over the other?
It's new stuff and will be introduced (and probably adopted) gradually. Look for a major update in early January which will permit you to work entirely within AutoCAD. I would probably wait until then to evaluate it more fully since it will be more complete.
It will have lots of new features including more out-of-process rendering options, and cloud rendering. It will also be somewhat disruptive in that all of the old file formats will change (it's been about 10 years since we've done this.)
Oh, awesome! I'm excited.
