advanced rendering for AutoCAD
I've got one session of ACAD 2011 running with nxT open and rendering. I have another separate session of ACAD 2011 open. Can I run nXt and render in the second session at the same time (counting on computer system to keep up)?
Thanks,
John

I think I found the answer...not a good idea. Materials with image references could be referenced in both files and cause issues.

I think I'll wait for the first rendering in process to finish up some more before I test it out, just to be sure. I've had too many red bulls this morning and am just a little eager...Thanks for the replies. I'll post the results.

I got too eager. I was getting an odd light reflection in the first rendering/session. Wasn't sure if I just needed to wait for it to run longer, so I copied the file to run some tests in the second session.
Thought that if I rendered with the materials off in the second session, the issue of material images would be OK.
Second session was rendering fine, then I realized the materials being off won't help me solve the odd reflection I was getting so I stopped the rendering. Second session crashed...attached image.
I will test later...

I've been running 5 renderings consecutively for the past 2 weeks while I've been on holiday.
No problems at all.
You must be runnung one of those Cray Supercomputers, Peter.
I've run two renderings simultaneously without a problem. I don't think I could run more productively. Of course, my drawing sizes are upwards of 100, 150 Mb. It probably matters.
Rich Rosemann
Yes. My model sizes were between 16 and 35Mb.
Four small renderings achieved around 1500 passes each, but the large one was still at 260 passes, so I'm going to have to let it run for a few more days.
I'll post the results when I've finished tweaking them.
