AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

RPC trees inserted into the drawing have strange behaviour as regards sun position. The shadow appears only when sun is oriented from roughly one half of the full horizon circle. It seems shadows appear only when sun is coming from behind the camera location. Is it known RPC problem? See attached.

There's a switch on the RPC you need to set-- I believe it's called Cast Reflections.  I would always set this one.  It is mentioned in the wiki, but I need to make it clear why it should be set.
Thanks Roy, I'll take a look at it.
Is there a way to make the casting default as you have to do it for everyone, which can be a lot.
Ah, has it to be set for each RPC inserted separately? Isn't it a global switch? Is there any obvious reason why to have it off Roy? Maybe it would be better idea to have it on by default and switch it off only when needed, wouldn't it?
It's an RPC switch-- I can't set it.  You'll need to talk to ArchVision about it.
Will do that keep you all updated.

Use the Mass Edit switch in the plugin palate/toolbar in AutoCad you can do multiple edit but not across all types. You do plants and people together but cannot add vehicles to the combination. You do vehicles separately.

Here are my findings from archvision.

In AutoCad with Nxt we discover that RPC renders funny at times when the Cast Reflection switch is off. Check and it renders fine. Is it possible to default this switch as check so We will not have to keep doing it as some scenes contains a lot of RPC. With Mass Edit one can set multiple RPC's but I discover this does not work when you select vehicle RPC with others like plants and people, but plant and people work together.

Hello Akin,

The only way that I know to do this is to use Mass Edit as you have described. It sounds as if nXT might be calculating the RPCs as not being in the viewport. Turning on Cast Reflections causes them to load even if out of the rendered view. This might be something that we need to have Accurender's team look at.

Thanks,

Nothing to do with the viewport.  Cast reflections makes the thing double-sided.  As suspected, use Mass Edit or Edit each one individually.  Always set this switch for nXt (or AutoCAD raytracing.)
