AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

After almost 24 hours of path tracing image of 1748X1024 resolution (it did some 320 passes) AutoCAD collapsed :( and all three windows had closed.

I didn't check the auto save option in Render Setting panel (what a stupidity).

Is there any chance nXt saved intermediate state of the picture somewhere?

Thanks.

only one and just one thing to be said: next time you will do better.

Saving stuff:

  • nXt edits do not make AutoCAD aware of them, so SAVETIME variable does not take place... this should be changed. IOW: once I change anything in nXt, AutoCAD should recognize it and trigger autosave.
  • There should be an independent nXt rendering autosave - despite what I check, nXt should be able to show me the last rendering
Good point. That would be really nice.
My heart goes out for you. I have suffer such in the past and so requested for the autosave which Roy added, maybe Roy can further integrate  Nxt into Autocad so we have something to recover should such occur, like an automatic *.nxt format with autocad *.bak
Thanx guys, you make my evening :) What can I do? Nothing, just be wiser next time :( and pause nXt from time to time and save the image.
that was sort of the meaning of my post - if the thing is important for you, keep saving. Obviously, this could have been taken care of by the programmer - but we would like him to concentrate on another issues, do not we? ...how long is this statement going to hold?

If you have an emergency George, and if you feel ok with it & and if my machine is free, you can always give me the file to simultaneously render for you to meet your deadlines.

The Economic situation as portrayed by the media seems to be getting tricky there?

May folks at Mcneal can set up a commercial render farm as the ones I know are not willing to try out Nxt just yet.

Thanks Kamal for your offer, I can manage renderings on machines I have in office to work all day and overnight, it's not a problem. I am not doing renderings for my living (despite I would like to do so :) - as the rendering process has less stress and responsibilities than construction supervising of own projects ;-) ).

Yes, the economic situation here is very uncertain, all measures taken by government are targeted only on the biggest part of working people with limited incomes (which are now cut more than 40% in the last one year) and the main part of non-paying-taxes go-getters and golden-stocks-market-boys still continues not paying taxes. This has deep impact on construction market generally and on all professions related with it. The work-flow in our office has dropped at least 70% in last two years and there are still no signs of amelioration, still "no light can be seen on the end of the tunnel" we currently are.

Regards.

Yes, you are the victim of IMF, which force you to sell to the private, all that belong to the state (water? train? energy?...) all that was the wealth and the solidarity of the people. IMF say that the remedy to the liberal crisis, is more liberal... It's crazy! The remedy is going to kill the patient. And soon in my country...

So true Marc, so sadly true...

Our 'new order" world (call it EU, IMF, ECB or Imperium Euro-Americanum, soap bubble or whatever else) is standing on feet of clay. Its collapse will make heavy clatter...

Its great to see actual on ground perspective of an actual citizen than relying on international news agencies which make it look as if the Greeks are lazy etc. Bahrain has been a victim in a similar way by this sort of sensationalist world reporting! :)
Right now Nxt can autosave in incremental passes as you define. When I have a dual core I set it to save every two passes and now on an i3 I set it to 10 passes in Nxt format. In case of a crash which is rare (now on 64 bits) I have something to go back to. Only wish it where possible to continue on a rendering the next day after the AutoCad session must have being close (Is that possible sometime in the furture Roy?)
