AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hi Roy,

Are those beasts of any interest for us the Accurenderers? 56 cores for just 1700euros looks like real bargain.

Yes-- these are very interesting and this product family is something I've been watching for a few years now.  It should be much easier to port the current product over to use something like this than, say, a Tesla GPU.

but xeon phi is only support opencl now, but I can't know the next version? because the next version can no need cpu to use that.

You can't just go out and buy one and hope it runs with nXt-- any version of the thing will likely require some work from my end.  Much easier than porting to a GPU platform, though.  Most of the code will likely run unmodified and all of the current approaches and algorithms will likely still be valid.

Alfons
