AccuRender nXt

advanced rendering for AutoCAD

Hello all

I have been working for a client to get him an eyecatching coffee shop interior.

Attached is a bunch of images which I generated. Next stage I want to figure out how to use Displacement Maps in Nxt so I can get depth in some of my patterns.

This is/was more of a design job but I still had to make a near decent render to sell it. Roys Multi Channel Light system has made things easy to cheat and get the right real life effects.

Let me know what can be improved to get a better image.

Cheers

I wouldn't change anything. Just let it cook longer to minimize the noise. Great presentation Birdman!
I would not use displacement maps - decent normal maps should be enough... there is quite drammatic loss of speed once you start using displacement

does normal map works on geometry? I never use it.

Fabulous image and presentation, I agree with George, needs more cooking.

In my opinion, displacement map give a realism effect that cannot give the bump... (and Roy have hard worked to set it, so give him a chance ;o)) but I don't know how works normal map.

Normal map for flat surfaces (like ceramic tiles etc.) is indeed enough. Speed is not the main reason to leave some really COOL features of nXt when producing final pictures though. Bump or normal mapping can't simply beat the true 3D effect of displacement (stone walls, brick masonry etc.) especially for close-ups.
Thanks George. If I understand, "Normal map" is a "Bump-like" feature.
exactly, normal map is very similar to bump, but produces better results

Normal maps and bump maps are very similar.  Both alter only the surface normal (a unit vector perpendicular to the surface)  which determines the orientation of a surface.  The underlying geometry is not altered in either case.  In bump mapping, the gradient of the map is used to determine what happens to the surface normal.  Normal maps directly encode the normal vector into the RGB space of the map-- so they may be a little more precise (with bump mapping how the gradient is calculated is implementation dependent.)  Normal maps really require 3rd party software to generate.

Sampdoria-- I don't really see an application for displacement mapping in your images.  I doubt if you'll see much improvement for the additional work required.

Overall a very good work, if you are looking to improve on the conceptual image I would look at adding some detail to the design.

Do you intend on the seamless sneeze shield assembly adding to the design? Consider changing to a more standard post and rail design in chrome.

Add more detail to the back bar support equipment.

Add a POS station at the front of the counter.

Entourage would really help.. People (for scale) and food (especially in the cold case). I would also add some reflections in the windows looking outside reflecting the interior of the space.
Recess lights in the various depth of the ceiling will help too, especially in knocking out shadows in that area.
thanks everyone for your valuable tips. The client is quite happy but I think hes a first timer, the details you have all suggested are really good. I just bought a Cash Till from the net to add into the mix! regards!

Don't do that,....at least only as a last resort.

I think there is a wealth of models available from the group if you can't find something on accustudio or other free sources.

CAN WE GET PETER MILNER TO TRAIN SOME OF US FOR A TOKEN ?

Good day, forum members,I was thinking that we could each, if interested, contribute a significant token to give Peter Milner and David to train us virtually in nxt render for Autocad. Am not sure he still uses it but the experience he has spanning over 20 years cannot be underestimated. I wish the forum co-ordinators could look into this. So that more of us will produce realistic renders with the paid version of nxt render and we will be able to encourage other users of other more advanced…See More

3D_Replication final

I created this replication of one of Peter Milner's renders, not with AI but with sketchup (with the matchnewphoto tool), autocad and nxtrender.Critics and comments are welcome.
